Solid Surfaces and Engineered Stone at ZOW: Growth posted at exclusive E3S Exhibition

E3S 2007 (European Solid Surface Show & Engineered Stone Exhibition) featured for the second time February 26 - March 1 as a special exhibition at ZOW - Zuliefermesse Ost-Westfalen [East Westphalia Suppliers' Show]. Around 35 international manufacturers, craftsmen and suppliers of solid surfaces, engineered stone and components produced from these materials presented their wares in the dedicated E3S display area at the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center.

Following the second E3S to feature at ZOW, exhibitors from the solid surface and engineered stone sectors declared themselves to be largely satisfied. This exclusive exhibition with 35 (previous year: 28) companies from 13 countries was able to present visitors with an extended range of ideas. As in the previous year, German and Italian suppliers formed the strongest contingents in terms of numbers.

At the official ZOW press conference on February 26, Peter H. Meyer, CEO of Bielefeld-based show organizer Survey Marketing + Consulting GmbH & Co. KG, announced his commitment to expanding the E3S show still further in response to its increasing popularity. He declared that E3S has proved itself to be an effective platform for communication for this specialized materials sector, offering a compact and comprehensive overview of the diversity of products and solutions available in this sector which is unique in the world.

Successful approach to target group

Exhibitors at E3S were able to profit directly from an intensified approach on the part of ZOW organizers to target architects and interior designers. The neighboring "Architectural Lounge" in Hall 23.2 was the venue and focus for events at this year's Architects' Days, which attracted several hundred visitors specifically from the profession. Present on all event days were the four Lounge partners: the BDIA [German Interior Designers' Association], architecture journal DETAIL, Hanover-based iF International Forum Design and Material Connexion Cologne. The various information events as well as the guided tours around the exhibition halls were extremely well-received. Features billed as "Innovative Surfaces" and "The New Décor for Architecture" also served to direct trade visitors' attention specifically towards E3S exhibits.

A further highlight much anticipated by the E3S public was the premier of the "M Technology Award", organized by iF (International Forum Design), a new product award for outstanding supplier products. The ten product solutions to receive the award from the panel of judges went on display in an exclusive exhibition in the walkway between Halls 21 and 22. With its extensive target group-based program embedded into the broad ZOW exhibitor base, E3S 2007 once again provided all participants with an effective show environment. The next E3S takes place February 25-28, 2008, at the Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center.
